| SYNOPSIS | |
| JOEL: Matt Redman singing on the worshiptogether stuff is what changed my worship ministry back in the 90′s. He is a prolific songwriter, amazing musician and innovator lyrically. I am floored that he is still able to write such timely songs and stay so current style wise. This is another great CD that sorta follows stylistically his Beautiful News album. 12 new tracks that make any Matt Redman fan reflect on his previous work. On first listen I was not really impressed. Partly because I had just listened to the sonically perfect Fee CD Hope Rising. Then on second listen it started to seep in. This was a great CD and really is an awesome worship album. |

| CONNER: When I think of pillars of the worship community, Matt Redman is one of those who come to mind. If your worship leader got sick and you were Johnny on the Spot to fill in at a moment’s notice, chances are that at least 1 out of the 5 songs you’d whip out of your memorized repertoire would be a song by Matt Redman! For crying out loud this is his 2nd release after his Vol. 1 “best of” was released in 2005. The guy’s still got it! We Will Not Be Shaken gives us 12 new tracks by Matt that stir the heart of the worshiper and written with the church in mind. What I love has always been Matt’s openness and candidness, for the best synopsis there is just check out Matt’s blog. | MIKE: Every once in a while you come across a worship album that is, for lack of a better word, perfect. Perhaps not perfect, but all that it should be. Such is the case with We Will Not Be Shaken; it’s all that it should be.One would expect Matt Redman to give us thoughtful, worshipful lyrics. He does. One would expect him to give us simple yet elegant music. He does. One would expect him to lead us to a place of worship. And he does. This record may not have the next huge worship anthem on it, but what it does have is a collection of worshipful, Biblically-sound, deep songs. Add that together with near-perfect production and a smooth elegance only a gifted and annointed worship leader can bring, and you have something special. | |
| ALASTAIR: Maybe it’s the fact I grew up in the UK, immersed in British style worship music, but there is just something comforting about listening to a Matt Redman CD. He’s like an old trusty horse that never lets you down. His music is steeped in scripture and biblical truth and it makes my heart glad to listen to it.I have always loved Matt’s worship style, his heart for worship and his reserved British personality. He is one the people I look up to and try to learn from as a worship leader – both for stage presence and song writing ability. So, what did I think of this album? It is brilliant. While it is a not rock-out-marathon, it is 12 solid worship songs, every one of them suitable for church congregations. There is so much depth to these songs that they keep getting better with each listen. One other thing I like about Matt Redman is that he doesn’t write girly worship songs. He can write songs that are intimate but blokes can still sing without compromising their manliness. | |

| CONNER: While I have the utmost respect for Matt, I basically slept through the first 4 songs. Then all of a sudden “The Glory of Our King” came on and the CD actually started for me! It was hilarious because when the CD started over, I liked them SO much more! I think. So, I believe that for fans of Matt Redman, you’ll like this CD because you’ve heard it before…but then there’s some real gems that surprise you! I haven’t mentioned the lyrics because it’s Matt Redman. Hello! Great stuff here. As always it’s thoughtful and singable. So, starting at track 5 and looping through the CD I give it: Rating: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
