Purchase Tim Hughes: Happy Day -

| SYNOPSIS | |
| KLAMPERT: Tim Hugues always seemed to be the underdog in worship music. All the churches are singing his music and everybody has heard his stuff on the radio, but much like Brenton Brown his name is not in every Christian home. It should be. Tim is great worship leader and a brilliant song writer. This live CD/DVD is awesome. There are guest musicians and singers and a few brand new tracks and what you get may just be one of the best live worship CD’s in a while. | |
| BYRD: If you happen to be unfamiliar with Tim Hughes then just check out the song tracks to this CD because undoubtedly you’re playing several of these songs at your church already. If you’re not then go NOW and purchase it NOW because there are truly some gems that should be essential in your worship song catalog as well as 4 new tracks from Tim Hughes. Tim is joined by some of his friends, and with friends like these…you are a wickedly talented young man! Stu G and Alex Nifong on guitar!?!?! YES PLEASE! Martin Smith joining in on vocals! THANK YOU! Add in 2,000 people hungry to worship God and you’ve got an explosive must have live worship set that is powerful as it is reverent. |

| MAHONEY: The “British-influenced” worship sound seems to be in vogue lately, and nowhere is this exepemplifed better than in this live album, recorded in London. Tim Hughes is an amazing songwriter to be sure. Which makes me wish that this record stood out a little more from some of the others that have released this year. The album actually released earlier this year, but Hughes is releasing a CD/DVD combo of the concert this October, so it merits looking at it now. There are four new songs, including the CompassionArt tune “We Won’t Stay Silent” alongside Hughes-penned classics like “Beautiful One,” “Here I Am to Worship” and “Consuming Fire.”
These songs benefit from the obviously excited London crowd, and Hughes has an energy that I found surprising. This is the way these songs are meant to be played. However, if it wasn’t for the incredible songs, this would be just another worship performance. |
|
| VANCE: Tim Hughes is another top class British worship leader and song writer is probably not as well known as the likes of Matt Redman and Vicky Beeching – which is a real pity. Hopefully this album will help spread Tim’s music now that it has released in the United States.I have great respect for Tim and his partner in crime Al Gordon. If you have never listened to their podcasts on worshipcentral.org you need to. They crack me up every time. Maybe it’s my ‘taste of home’ while I spend some time in the States, but I just find them hilarious.
A lot of songs on this album you will have sung or played to death already in church, but they are classics that you can keep coming back to. There are 12 songs altogether on this CD/DVD recording, including 4 new songs. One of the highlights is Martin Smith from Delirious joining Tim in singing “Here I Am Worship” – probably Tim’s best known song. The DVD has high quality visuals with top notch editing and production. Overall, this is one great album. |

| BOTTOM LINE | |
KLAMPERT: It’s Hughes. The man is great, but I am really hoping this CD finally puts him on the map and makes him a household name. With that said get the CD with the DVD. The video is amazing and I just love watching worship concerts. Rating: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

BYRD: The CD itself is righteous but shell out the extra cash and pick up the CD/DVD bundle because hearing this is truly only half the experience. The production on the video is just as excellent as the audio and I say a “must have.” I like Tim’s new stuff and I’m so glad Tim went to breathe new creativity into the old stuff too!
