SYNOPSIS

KLAMPERT: Well we had one of the first reviews on here on her EP and all of us said we could not wait for the full CD. As anticipated Vicky did not disappoint. I have made no bones about being a fan of hers since the dawn of time and it is great to be able to say I still am. You get to hear some different things sonically on this CD than other beeching CD’s. It has a bit edgier feel and the production is amazing. Her cowriters for some of the songs like Mia Fields are brilliant.

There are many different styles on this CD and yet they all tie together with Vicky’s voice and unique sound. Some of the songs are not the “manliest” of tracks and can be categorized as chick rock. Guess what? she is a Woman so that makes sense. Even so there is not a song on here that I don’t like and a bunch are so stinking good that I can’t stop listening to them.

“Glory to God Forever”, the song she co-wrote with steve fee, will most likely be the controversial one on here because of her lyric change up and going less edgy on it. I personally LOVED IT. It was a nice refreshing change and hearing all the backup vocalists join in worshiping was an added bonus. I have already incorporated the “you are glorious…” vamp she does at the end into my worship leading.

You already know how I feel about the songs that were on the EP. Love “deliverer” and how could you not. Then there is “Break our Hearts” which lyrics ripped me a part. This song is so captivating it’s insane!

BYRD: So Eternity Invades is the full length release from Vicky Beeching. I honestly thought we reviewed this CD already but then I realized it was just the EP that we did a while back. I think that’s a huge testament to how incredible this CD is. Not only did the EP grab the appropriate song choices to give you a good sense of what the CD was going to be about but the CD lived up to how great the EP was!

If I’m genuinely honest, I get scared by female worship leaders sometimes because they just don’t hold my attention or can feel watered down unless they have some mad vocal chops. What’s great about Vicky Beeching isn’t that she has some menacing voice but it’s full of character and she delivers here on all 13 tracks! Another scary thing I see is cover songs! In an industry that’s like the Smoothie King of the music industry when I saw Glory to God on here I sighed out loud! BUT kudos for her for making it her own! KUDOS for not just rehashing out another version we’ve heard before. It’s a raw campfire feel that’s crazy awesome and no matter where you are you’re going to bust out in worship with her!

This sounds stupid but is this really her first full length CD? Because if so: WATCH OUT!

MAHONEY: Vicky Beeching has got some skills.  I’ll put her vocals up there with Brooke Fraser and Kari Jobe – women I would keep on my player all the time.  I could listen to her sing all day.

If the EP she recently released was an appetizer, Eternity Invades is the main course.   I was interested to hear her take on “Glory to God Forever.”  We have this song in heavy rotation at my church right now, and I know that co-written songs like this can have many facets when released by both artists (listen to “Remembrance” by Maher/Redman or “I Receive” by Houghton/Sanchez.)   I think Vicky’s take on will suit many churches that don’t feel comfortable with full rocked-out version.  (Though we’ll still be channeling Fee!)

“Deliverer” is an amazing song, as is “Break Our Hearts.”  I’m  a sucker for a piano ballad, and “Undivided Heart” does the trick.  Vicky had some great collaborators, both in writing and recording (Steve Fee, Robin Mark, Stu G) and it comes out, blended with good production and sound theology.  This one’s a keeper.

VANCE: I’ve had the new album for a while now.  It’s crammed full of well crafted, singable melodies and solid lyrics.  Vicky’s voice, as I mentioned during the EP review, is brilliant.

It was really interesting to hear Vicky’s version of Glory To God Forever.  I actually prefer it a little more rocky (aka Fee’s version) than the acoustic sound that Vicky used on her album.  It’s still a great sounding song and the ending is great.

Deliverer is still a favorite – it was on the EP also.  Break Our Hearts is a good song also.  There is a magic lyric in there that Brooke Fraser also used recently in Hosanna – “Break our hearts for what breaks yours…”.

Finally, another song I think is great is the bonus track – The Wonder Of The Cross.  It’s a hymn like song that I”d love to try sometime.

BOTTOM LINE
KLAMPERT: The bottom line is you need this CD. I didn’t say you might want it. I said you need it. This is a veteran worship artist who does not use cliche lyrics and has a heart for the church and broken people. It comes out in every track and most of these songs can be used in your church.
Rating: ★★★★½
BYRD: Well produced songs for church that can be listened to for “entertainment” as well and great vocals and musicality! Have I not talked about the lyrics yet? Oh yeah they’re great. (I still love what she did with Salvation Day!) This CD is just hitting on all cylinders for me! Rating: ★★★★½
MAHONEY: The EP was like taking the whipped cream off an ice-cream sundae.  Eternity Invades makes you want to dig your spoon down in there to get the last bit of fudge.  A great record from a wonderful artist.  Rating: ★★★★½
VANCE: A great worship album – if you enjoyed the EP you’ll love it!
Rating: ★★★★☆
